Meet My Family

If we were sitting together in my office, you would see pictures of my family, and it would be only natural for me to want to tell you about them. (The one to the left was taken sometime in 2003). This page in my "virtual office", and a few other family pages linked to it below, are the next-best thing. I'm proud to introduce you to my wonderful and supportive family, I love them more and more each day!

Our home is a little lake-front log cabin in West Milford, (Northern) New Jersey. It's a bit like living in a vacation home all year round.  I live with my husband, Paul, my son, Mark, who is grown and almost ready to move on, and our little yorkshire terrier, Aspen.  I have a married daughter, Heather. To the right is a picture of Heather, and her husband, Ed, on their wedding day on July 19, 2004.

My son, Mark, is quite the artist, and seeks work that blends his art skills and computer skills.  Mark painted the picture to the left on the wall of his high school, could it be 6 years ago already?  All of the better art students decorate the walls of the high school with reproductions of paintings by famous artists.

My husband, Paul, was born in Sioux City, Iowa, but most of his growing-up memories are of Colorado. In particular he remembers Monument, Colorado, where he lived on a tree nursery that his father took care of while working for the Forest Service.  Later they lived in Colorado Springs. Paul studied electronics in Phoenix, Arizona, and when he returned home was hired on a temporary job in Colorado by a company located in New Jersey. When the job was complete, they asked him if he would move to New Jersey and join the company on a full-time basis.
A year later we met, and were married seven months later. After many trips to his beautiful Colorado, I am convinced he must really love me to leave those beautiful mountains and stay here in New Jersey.  Would I move to Colorado if he wanted to? In a heartbeat!

I was born and raised in New Jersey and never traveled until Paul showed me our beautiful country through many business trips during our early years of marriage. Until the age of 14 my family lived in Nixon/Edison area of New Jersey and I attended Timothy Christian School. When we moved to Bergen County, I attended Pascack Valley High in Hillsdale.  After working for a couple of  years, I went to Luther College and got my Associate Degree, then went to William Paterson College to continue my college education. In April of 1979 Paul and I were married, and a year later left for a 7 month business trip to Colorado. I came home pregnant with Mark, and became a stay-at-home, and later a work-at-home, Mom.

My husband is very active in politics and as our lake President.  We are also very active in our church...not because we feel like we have to be, but because we enjoy a loving relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.

New!! Before you go, please stop over and visit a special page, "A Love Letter Home" dedicated to my dear Grandfather with a love letter to my Grandmother from 1927 while he was in the Navy.  You will also find a page with pictures dedicated to my dear father, who passed away before the holidays in 2005.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:16 & 17

A father-daughter hug on heather's wedding day, Mark's HS picture and graduation, I have to find his college graduation picture.  I'll be back with more some day.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
